Many users struggle with tracking groceries, avoiding duplicate purchases, and managing monthly food budgets. A survey we conducted showed that 73% of participants often forget what they have at home, leading to overspending and food waste.
FRIDGIFI addresses these problems by providing an AI-powered smart pantry tracking application. It allows users to maintain a digital inventory, get reminders for expiration dates, and receive alerts for items running low. Key features include AI-based image recognition for adding items, automatic shopping list generation, and budget-friendly suggestions to manage expenses effectively.
User Personas
To better understand our target users, we created two personas based on our research: a busy Computer Science student and an equally occupied Medical student. Both struggle with managing their finances, meal planning, and food waste due to hectic schedules.

Our Solution: FRIDGIFI
Our team planned and developed FRIDGIFI, an AI-powered smart pantry tracker that serves as a personalized shopping reminder and budgeting assistant. This app helps users save money and reduce unnecessary purchases by tracking pantry inventory and suggesting when to restock. By analyzing purchasing habits and expiration dates, the app provides smart recommendations, helping users make more informed shopping decisions. The positive feedback was overwhelming, with **95.36% of survey respondents** agreeing that FRIDGIFI would be highly beneficial for them.
